Carol Stream Historical Society
at the Town Center Grand Opening
The Carol Stream Historical Society
was founded in 1976 for the purpose of celebrating the Nation’s Bi-Centennial.
The projects of the society are the Gretna Museum and the Caboose, both
located at Armstrong Park in Carol Stream.
Currently, the Carol Stream Historical
Society is working in conjunction with the Village of Carol Stream on the
restoration of the Historic Farmhouse on Lies Road.
Please join us on Sunday, June
20th, 1998 for the Grand Opening of the Carol Stream Town Center at the
corner of Lies Road and Gary Avenue. On that date, the members of
the Historical Society will be available on the property located on the
north side of Lies Road, west of Gary Avenue. Seedlings of “milkweed”
will be available for purchase. It is also a chance to see the farmhouse
up close and learn more about the upcoming restoration project which includes
raising the windmill.
Members are as follows: Barbara
O’Rahilly, Barb Simkus, Gerri Bird, Lynn O’Dell, Jan Smith, Carole Ellermeier,
Dave Farley, and Luanne Triolo
